Is dentistry an extremely stressful job? That is a question that I have asked myself many times. The thought of having to go in and have teeth pulled or having root canals and fillings replaced is enough to drive anyone crazy! I know because I have been there and done that, but the good news is that you don’t have to be like me.
I will admit that I have always been a bit nervous about going to the dentist. I used to get very worried about going on dates with girls. I would be willing to take them out to eat, but I was always nervous about being intimate in the dentist chair. It was hard to have confidence in someone other than myself. But as I got older, things began to change. I became a mom and my kids moved out.
Now here is where my thinking changed. Instead of thinking about how awful it would be to go to work and have a root canal, I began to wonder why I was even bothering going to the dentist in the first place. Why should I have to go through all that pain just to have nice teeth. Well now I know the reason. Dentistry is, without a doubt, one of the most rewarding careers that there is.
Dentistry is fun. It is challenging. It forces you to grow as a person and learn new things on a daily basis. If you love what you are doing and you don’t give up easily then you will be happy for the rest of your life.
But for some people, it’s just not worth it. They just can’t deal with the idea of having their mouth taken care of. There is nothing wrong with that; in fact I would say that Dentistry is one of those jobs where you either agree to it or you don’t. No one is forcing you into it!
Another good thing is that it is not very expensive. Yes, it is true that the procedures cost a lot but the end result is worth every penny you spend. And if you are a good payer, you get discounts at the dentists, so the expenses don’t add up to more than the benefits you reap! !
The only downside is when you go for an appointment. Now this is where I think the stress factor comes in. Imagine being in the waiting room for hours, sometimes you feel like you should just give up because this place is ridiculous. But as soon as you walk in, you feel instantly better.
So is dentistry a stressful job? I will answer this question based on my own experience. Yes, it is. But the rewards make it all worth it. I am so glad I went to a great dentist like Dr. oral surgeon in Sarasota FL.
I have been suffering from severe anxiety issues for years. This condition made it impossible for me to live a normal life. It affected my social life and ability to make decisions. I am still in the process of overcoming it. Thanks to the wonderful team of doctors and staff – they did wonders for me.
Another issue is with my appearance. I am naturally thin with small breasts. It’s hard to shop and maintain a great looking appearance. It can be stressful knowing how much attention you need to pay to maintaining your appearance. The great thing is I’m now following a holistic approach and enjoy eating right – working out and taking care of myself.
What about teeth? I had terrible yellow stains from smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee. But after seeing the amazing results of my procedure, I decided to give up the stuff I was addicted to. It was the right decision. Now, when I look in the mirror – I’m happy with my smile!
These are the things that can cause stress in a person. You must avoid these if you want to be happy with the results. You don’t have to go under the knife to get these issues solved. There are other solutions and methods that can do them for you. But I would suggest that before you make that decision – take the time to find out more.
